Research Matters: Research for an energy-efficient SA

12 April

Dear UP staff and students

We would like to inform you that a new feature has been published on Research Matters.

This month, the spotlight is on the work being done by the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering, the Built Environment and Information Technology, in terms of addressing the problems currently being experienced in South Africa’s national electrical grid system due to aging infrastructure, insufficient maintenance and a lack of real-time monitoring.

You can access the new feature by visiting: www.researchmatters.up.ac.za, where you will find a short video, an info graphic and interesting articles that showcase the work being done by our researchers in this regard. Please feel free to share this information widely in your own social media network and on other channels.

While you are visiting our Research Matters page, please also visit the ‘Programmes‘ page for some other articles that show how staff and students are making their days matter through the work they do at UP.

Should you want to make a contribution or let us know about a project that you feel should be featured on Research Matters, please let us know by sending an e-mail to isabel.denecker@up.ac.za or ansa.heyl@up.ac.za.

Kind regards

The Research Matters team
