Seminar: Let’s talk water!

24 April

The Faculty library of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, Built Environment & IT cordially invites you to attend this seminar day on water.

South Africa is considered a water scarce country and, if the current rate of water usage continues, demand is likely to exceed supply at some point in the near future. The improvement of water conservation, water quality and water-use efficiency is therefore a key national priority.

The purpose of this seminar is to create awareness of the water status in South Africa and to highlight ways and methods of harvesting, preserving and purifying water. Several strategies and resources for sustainable water management will also be showcased. Speakers from within and outside the University of Pretoria have been invited to come and share their knowledge, expertise and experiences. They will also exhibit the different technologies used for efficient water preservation and management.

Attendees of the seminar will also have a special opportunity to visit the new Kumba Virtual Reality (VR) Centre for Mine Design (Mining Engineering Department).

The virtual tour will take place on Friday, 5 May at 11:00 (duration: 45 minutes). Please indicate on the RSVP form if you would like to attend.

Time: 08:00 – 11:30
