UP graduate named face of the ‘Next generation of internal audit’

The Global Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) has selected Mr PietFrik Liebenberg as its face of the ‘Next generation of internal audit’. The feature puts the spotlight on recently qualified internal auditors who are part of the IIA’s Internal Auditing Education Partnership (IAEP) Programme.
Mr Liebenberg is a recent University of Pretoria graduate, who received his BCom Honours in Internal Auditing degree at the recently held Autumn Graduation Ceremony. Reflecting on his participation in UP’s IAEP Programme, he states: ‘It provided me with the opportunity to do on-the-job training, where I gained valuable experience to step into the profession with confidence’.
He is currently employed as an internal audit trainee at KPMG as he works toward his dream job of becoming a partner at an auditing firm. ‘This would provide me with the opportunity to contribute to the future of the profession,’ he concludes.
