BACHELOR OF COMMERCE – ACCOUNTING (BCom Accounting)
This degree is offered at the Pietermaritzburg and Westville campuses. It is a threeyear full-time qualification that prepares graduates who wish to train as Chartered Accountants for the one-year Bachelor of Commerce Honours (Accounting). UKZN is registered with the South African Institute for Chartered Accountants (SAICA), and provides courses in accordance with the curriculum approved by SAICA. Other career areas include Chartered Accountant (CA) specializing in Auditing, Taxation, Financial Management and Accounting.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
National Senior Certificate (NSC) Degree with Maths level 5 and English and Life Orientation level 4 or Matric Exemption with Maths ‘D’ HG/‘B’ SG. Minimum 32 NSC/36 Matric Exemption points

The College of Law and Management Studies  is one of the four Colleges that form the University of KwaZulu-Natal. In turn, it consists of four Schools: the Graduate School of Business and Leadership; the School of Accounting, Economics & Finance; the School of Law; and the School of Management, Information Technology & Governance.The College consists of about 311 dedicated academic and supportive administrative staff and approximately 10750 committed students.
Due to the nature of its programmes and disciplines the College produces students who join highly specialized professions such as legal practice, accountancy, marketing, financial management, human resources and public administration. As a result, the College has influential alumni and strong professional links.
