Get your smart access card

11 May

The new smart access card project is proceeding well with over 17 000 cards issued to staff, students and contractors since 20 April .

To obtain a new smart access card, your photo and fingerprints will need to be captured and therefore you have to acquire your access card in person. In order to provide a convenient service mobile stations will be visiting each campus.

Access card issuing will commence on the Groenkloof campus as from 22 May to 30 May during normal UP working hours.

The process takes on average 5 minutes per card to be issued. Please bring along your current access card or ID or drivers license for verification purposes.

The service is also currently operating at the Hatfield Campus, Student Service Centre, Graduate Centre as well as the shop located next to the Haloa coffee shop under the Engineering bridge. (The Graduate Centre will only be available until 18 May.)

Future updates will be sent to inform all staff, students and contractors as to where and when they can obtain their cards at the Prinshof, Onderstepoort and Mamelodi campuses.
